The announcement came during a live Twitch session with content creator Romeo WJ, where Joeboy revealed, “We had recorded multiple tracks together and felt it was the right moment to release them.”
Wizard Chan later confirmed the collaboration on his Instagram page on 31 January, noting that rising star Qing Madi will also make a special appearance on the project.
While details on the release date, track list, and cover art remain under wraps, excitement is already building.
Joeboy and Wizard Chan have previously collaborated on hits such as Loner, I’ll Be Okay, and Heal, blending their distinct styles into songs that resonate across Afropop and culturally infused rhythms.
Joeboy’s signature sound is known for infectious melodies and heartfelt stories of love, while Wizard Chan fuses Ijaw sonics with highlife, folk, reggae, and hip-hop to create his genre-blending style, “Afro-Teme.”
Together, the duo promises a dynamic synergy that pairs romance with cultural depth.
The EP’s title, Agaba Romantic, reflects Wizard Chan’s established “Agaba” persona, rooted in his Niger Delta heritage and spiritual motifs, while the addition of “Romantic” highlights Joeboy’s Afrobeats lover-boy aesthetic.
Fans can therefore expect a project that combines heartfelt lyricism with signature grooves.
