Maryam Sanda, a wife accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello to death, has been convicted and sentenced to death by an Abuja High Court.
Sanda had rushed out of the courtroom, crying, after the judgement was pronounced but Justice Yusuf Haliu ordered that she should be brought back to the courtroom.
According to police reports, Maryam, a mother of two had stabbed her husband whom was said to be a nephew to a former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, at about 3:50 a.m in Abuja on November 19, 2017.
Halilu, delivering the judgement, ordered that Sanda should be remanded in Suleja prison till she exhausts her right of appeal.
“It has been said that thous shall not kill. Whoever kills in cold blood shall die in cold blood. Maryam Sanda should reap what she has sown. It is blood for blood,” Halilu said.
