The Kano State Hisbah Board has extended invitations to 50 journalists to participate in the upcoming second batch of its mass wedding program. The announcement was made by the Commander General, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, during a press briefing on the forthcoming event in the state.
Sheikh Daurawa disclosed that the board has allocated 50 slots specifically for journalists, allowing them to nominate their loved ones to take part in the mass wedding ceremony. He emphasized that this initiative follows the success of the previous mass wedding, which witnessed the marriage of approximately 1,800 couples.
Furthermore, the Commander General revealed the board’s intention to broaden participation in the program by inviting members of professional groups and trade unions. Additionally, legal practitioners and health workers will be included in the next batch of the mass wedding exercise.
Sheikh Daurawa reiterated the program’s objective, emphasizing its role in promoting moral values and combating immorality among young individuals in society. The mass wedding initiative reflects the Hisbah Board’s commitment to fostering social cohesion and strengthening ethical standards within the community.
