The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 35-year-old Adeola Adewale in connection with the murder of a man at a service apartment in Abule Egba, demonstrating its commitment to swift justice
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Lagos State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in the investigation of a recent homicide case initially reported at the Oko-Oba Division.

On 29th March 2025, the Command received a distress report concerning the murder of an unidentified man at a service apartment located in the Abule Egba area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that on 27th March 2025, at about 5:20 p.m., an unidentified woman, accompanied by the deceased, rented the apartment.
A few hours later, the woman left with the deceased’s car and personal valuables, telling the housekeeper she would return shortly.
However, during a routine check the next day, 28th March 2025, the lifeless body of the male victim was discovered in the apartment.
Investigators recovered from the scene an empty syringe, two empty cans of malt drink, and two bottles of water.
The body was promptly evacuated and deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary for autopsy, while a manhunt for the suspect commenced.
Individuals engaging in criminal activities will be identified, arrested, and brought to justice,” CP Olohundare Jimoh.
Through detailed and painstaking investigations conducted by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the suspect was apprehended on 26th April 2025 at about 9:30 p.m. in Oko-Oba, Lagos. She was identified as Adeola Adewale, a 35-year-old female.
During interrogation, Adeola confessed to lacing a malt drink with a poisonous substance, which ultimately caused the death of the victim. Further discreet investigation confirmed the deceased’s identity as Mr. Adebayo, a 65-year-old male.
Adeola Adewale is currently in custody while further investigations continue to uncover more details surrounding the tragic incident.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, emphasized the Command’s unwavering commitment to the security of Lagos residents.
“Individuals engaging in criminal activities will be identified, arrested, diligently pursued, and brought to justice,”he affirmed.
