Lagride Omni mini bus

Lagride expands ride options with EVs, Pro, Legacy tiers and prepares to launch Omni mini bus, offering Lagosians safer, greener, and group-friendly mobility

Reinforcing its ambition to become Nigeria’s most inclusive e-taxi platform, Lagride is introducing three new ride tiers in its app this week and preparing to launch a fourth category—Omni, a mini bus option tailored for families, school runs, and small group travel.

The Lagos State-backed platform now offers users clear mobility choices: Lagride EVs, Lagride Pro, and Lagride Legacy, with Omni set to join shortly.

This strategic expansion aligns with Lagride’s mission to create a dynamic, multi-tiered service that meets the city’s diverse transport needs.

Starting today, riders can choose from three newly categorised ride types:

Lagride EVs: Electric vehicles offering eco-friendly, cost-effective, and quieter urban trips.
Lagride Pro: Premium vehicles driven by academy-trained Captains, prioritising service, safety, and comfort.
Lagride Legacy: Reliable, owner-operated cars (2022 models and newer) providing accessible, everyday transportation.

Each tier offers a unique balance of value, experience, and environmental consideration—ensuring there’s a suitable option for every Lagosian.

The upcoming Lagride Omni category introduces a 6-seater mini bus designed for shared travel with luggage space, addressing key urban mobility challenges:

Family and Social Rides: Travel together to events, outings, or gatherings without splitting into multiple cars.
Last-Mile Commutes: Split rides among co-workers from main transit stops to offices.
School Runs: Book fixed daily routes with real-time tracking and certified drivers for children’s safety.

With a focus on space, affordability, and dignity, Omni is poised to become a game-changer for group mobility in Lagos.

Acknowledging the impact of Lagos’s heavy rains on daily commuting, Lagride has launched a 40% discount promo valid from 24 September to 13 October 2025.

The offer can be accessed via the Coupons section in the app and reflects Lagride’s commitment to supporting residents during difficult weather conditions.

Chief Diana Chen, Chairman of CIG Group and Lagride, stated:

“Mobility is at the heart of Lagos life, and Lagride is a social contract to move Lagos better. With today’s expansion, we give riders more control. With Omni, we meet group needs like never before. And by offering a discount during the rains, we act with empathy when it’s needed most.”

Jubril Arogundade, Acting MD, added:

“Lagos is a city of different needs. That’s why we offer EVs for clean trips, Pro for premium service, Legacy for daily use, and Omni for groups. Everything we do supports the Governor’s mobility vision and empowers both riders and drivers.”

Lagride continues to invest in driver empowerment, with Pro and EV Captains undergoing intensive training through the Lagride Academy, in collaboration with the Nigerian Police, FRSC, and LASTMA.

The training covers road safety, customer service, and hospitality, ensuring international service standards.

To broaden access and employment, Lagride is actively recruiting 10,000 drivers via Drive-to-Own and Drive-to-Earn programmes, offering Lagosians pathways to long-term economic stability.

As Lagride expands ride options, its vision of a connected, inclusive, and resilient Lagos transport ecosystem is becoming clearer.
