‘Leaked sex tapes’ How to take the wind off blackmailers’ sails

There is something such as admiring your own nudity, enjoying the view of your own skin, the scars, the curves, the broad chest and a whole lot more.

There is, infact, something such as admiring the actions, the moves, vulnerability and firmness of your body and emotions when having sexual intercourse.

These explain why people feel the need to capture their bodies while they are bare and also record their sexual activities to satisfy a strange feeling of self obsession or maybe self lust.

However, while this isn’t a recent trend, it has become more popular in these times when social media has gained a life of its own. We have seen leaked nude pictures and sex videos of people who have fallen victims of blackmailers, who were once lovers or close friends and few times strangers.

The process is rather disheartening as most victims end up losing fortunes or even their lives, due to constant demands from their blackmailers and eventually their nudes and sex videos still end up on the internet.

Meanwhile, a rather interesting turn has been approached as victims have refused to give in to their blackmailers.

We have seen few cases of big names who have been threatened with their nudes and ended up releasing these nude materials by themselves on social media and use it as an opportunity to change or control the narrative in their favour.

This indeed is another bold move because millions of people all over the world end up having access to these photos and videos, but with an entirely different narrative.

Some narratives could come in form of an empowerment theme for people to embrace their bodies in all forms, shapes, colors and types.

While some might not be able to release their photos or sex videos, they come out on social media to narrate their current blackmail situation.

This, of course, cripples the power of their blackmailers because the public has already been informed of the situation hence, it could become impossible to relate such videos or pictures.

We can not deny the fact that making sex videos or taking nudes and then sending to other people is highly risky, but people do it for various reasons that help them sleep at night.

However, blackmailers having access to such files can be the end of some careers or even lives.

Meanwhile, when blackmailers are indulged by paying all the amounts requested, they never stop going as long as they still have access to the materials they use as their weapons.

A proven case study was that of a Nigerian university student who took to to social media to share half-naked photos of herself after she was blackmailed.

This way, the student outplayed an alleged blackmailer she claimed kept her at an uncomfortable spot. The alleged blackmailer had obtained half-naked photos of the student without her consent. Subsequently, she was subjected to blackmail as a result.

However, the student asserted that no one will use her mistakes to control her. Furthermore, she attached screenshots of chats she had with the alleged blackmailer alongside his number.

The alleged blackmailer had made a few sexual demands from the student.

She wrote:

“So someone is trying to blackmail me with half-naked pictures acquired without my consent. Everyone makes mistakes but I’ll be damned if some bastard thinks they can use my mistakes to control me. This predator has over 5 different pages.

“Two of his accounts have also been tagged alongside his number (maybe only one of them) so please be careful. Anyway here you go, guys, enjoy my curves….x”

Other options can and should be explored in situations such as this and most importantly, while it is almost impossible to eradicate taking of nudes and recording of sex videos, it is important to be extra careful and prepare for a blackmail situation should in case it ever happens.
