A 23-year-old Lagos man, Olasunkanmi Shorunke, was on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over allegations that he secretly recorded his former girlfriend’s nude video and threatened to publish it online.
Shorunke was charged with unlawful recording of intimate content and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace following a complaint involving his former partner, identified as 26-year-old Faith Braimoh.

The prosecution counsel, Superintendent of Police Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the alleged incident occurred in December 2025 at Agboyi Estate, Alapere, Lagos.
According to the prosecution, Shorunke allegedly recorded the intimate video of Braimoh during a video call without her consent before threatening to share the material on social media platforms.
The charge was brought under relevant provisions of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, including Section 259(b) and Section 168(d), which address unlawful conduct and actions capable of causing a breach of public peace.
Shorunke pleaded not guilty to the allegations when the charges were read to him.
Magistrate Lateef A. Owolabi granted the defendant bail set at ₦500,000, with two sureties required in the same amount.
The court adjourned the matter until September 15, 2026, for further hearing.
The case highlights growing legal attention towards the misuse of private digital content and the protection of individuals from online harassment and threats involving intimate materials.
