*Manchester United will reportedly not pursue a summer deal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen due to Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules. The club is prioritizing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap for their attacking reinforcements
Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly decided against making a move for Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports, the club’s decision is heavily influenced by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), designed to prevent clubs from incurring excessive financial losses.
Introduced in the 2015/16 season, the PSR permits clubs to accumulate losses of no more than £105 million over a three-year cycle.
These regulations have recently come into sharper focus, exemplified by Everton’s point deduction earlier in the season for breaching spending limits.
While Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and boasting an impressive record of 30 goals and 7 assists in 35 appearances this season, was initially seen as a potential solution to Manchester United’s goal-scoring issues, financial constraints appear to have altered their plans.
Instead, transfer expert David Ornstein has indicated that Manchester United’s primary target for the No.10 position is Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
If Manchester United are to look at others, I’m assured it will not be Victor Osimhen. Despite reports you might be reading, he is not on the agenda for Manchester United.” – David Ornstein, Transfer Expert.
The Brazilian forward has a reported £62.5 million release clause, and Ornstein suggests the player is keen on a move to Old Trafford, although personal terms are yet to be finalized.
Furthermore, Ornstein revealed that Ipswich Town’s young striker, Liam Delap, is the Red Devils’ top priority in the striker department. Delap has a £30 million release clause that would be activated if Ipswich are relegated from the Championship.
However, Manchester United face competition for his signature, with Chelsea also reportedly interested. Delap is expected to make a decision on his future before the upcoming European U21 Championship.
Addressing the speculation surrounding Osimhen, Ornstein stated emphatically on NBC Sports, “If Manchester United are to look at others, I’m assured it will not be Victor Osimhen.
Despite reports you might be reading, he is not on the agenda for Manchester United. They will have other options because they might have to turn to them, or they stick with internal solutions such as Rasmus Hojlund, and they focus on other positions.”

This development suggests a strategic shift in Manchester United’s transfer approach, prioritizing targets within a more financially sustainable framework while aiming to bolster their attacking options with Cunha and the highly-rated Delap.
