Manchester United players exit shock as Rashford, Sancho, and others push to leave. Major squad changes expected under Rúben Amorim this summer

[dropcap]M[/dropcap]anchester United players exit reports have sent shockwaves across the football world as five high-profile names have formally declared their desire to leave the club.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have all expressed intentions to depart Old Trafford this summer, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

This development marks a dramatic turn in United’s preparations for the new season. Sources confirm that the club has delayed the players’ return to pre-season training until later in July.

The delay is intended to allow the players and club to explore exit strategies further, raising serious questions about the future of Manchester United’s squad.

Among the five, Marcus Rashford’s potential departure is perhaps the most significant. The England international has long been seen as the heartbeat of United’s attack and is a product of the club’s esteemed academy.

His decision to part ways with the team comes with a symbolic gesture — handing over his iconic No. 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha. This act has been widely interpreted as a closing chapter in Rashford’s career at United.

Fabrizio Romano stated on Friday, “Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave. Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”

Sancho, who returned briefly from a loan spell at Chelsea, has struggled to carve out a consistent role at United.

His anticipated permanent exit is not unexpected, considering the challenges he has faced both on and off the pitch since his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Garnacho’s request to leave comes as a surprise to many. The young winger, often praised for his flair and potential, has grown frustrated by limited playing time.

His desire to seek more minutes elsewhere could be seen as a logical step in his development, albeit a painful loss for United.

Antony, on the other hand, rejuvenated his form during a successful loan spell with Real Betis. His performances reignited interest from clubs across Europe.

His eagerness to continue elsewhere stems from a wish to maintain that momentum in a fresh environment.

Tyrell Malacia’s struggles have been largely injury-related. After an inconsistent run followed by a short stint at PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch full-back now appears ready to start anew.

His case underlines the wider theme of career recalibration seen among the five players.

Manager Rúben Amorim is reportedly supportive of the departures as part of a wider restructuring project. Amorim,

who joined the club earlier this year, is said to favour a dynamic and high-intensity playing style, which may not align with all current squad members.

A source close to the club revealed, “This is not about pushing players out, but giving those who want to leave a fair chance. Amorim wants a squad fully aligned with his vision, and some changes were inevitable.”

The broader implications for Manchester United are clear. The club is not only looking to reduce its wage bill but also to raise funds for fresh acquisitions.

With the Premier League becoming more competitive each season, strategic planning in the summer window is now critical.

Supporters are left with mixed feelings. While some view the exits as necessary for progress, others are concerned about losing familiar faces who have embodied the club’s spirit. Nevertheless, change is undeniably underway at Old Trafford.

As the Manchester United players exit saga unfolds, fans and pundits alike will be watching closely. With the transfer window in full swing, the next few weeks could shape the club’s future for years to come.
