Declaring that both his government and the people of the state would go all out for President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid, Aiyedatiwa stressed that the support would surpass the state’s 2023 efforts.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the leadership of The Lucky Guy (TLG) political movement, the governor acknowledged the impact of the President’s economic reforms.
According to him, increased fiscal allocations have helped state governments, including Ondo, to fund development projects without taking loans or owing workers.
The governor credited the reform-driven revenue boost for enabling timely project execution and improving public services.
These gains, he said, were tangible results that voters could see and appreciate, forming a solid reason for renewed backing for Tinubu in the next election cycle.
Aiyedatiwa praised TLG for its grassroots innovation and commitment to inclusive political participation.
He encouraged the group to intensify mobilisation efforts across Ondo, ensuring more residents join the All Progressives Congress and participate actively in shaping the political future of the state.
MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju, convener of the group, reaffirmed the loyalty of members to the governor’s vision and to President Tinubu’s leadership.
He noted that the group was set to act as “foot soldiers” across the state’s 18 local councils. In his words, “We are itching for more responsibility, in readiness to work for the upcoming AsiwajuDatiwa 2027 project.”
The Director-General of Mobilisation, Muritala Suleiman, explained that TLG was not just a campaign outfit but a political platform designed to give a voice to youths who support Aiyedatiwa but feel excluded from mainstream politics.
By aligning with the governor, they hoped to demonstrate the strength of youth engagement and political innovation in Ondo.
On a related front, Aiyedatiwa also launched the distribution of the Renewed Hope Debit Cards under the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer programme.
The event, held at Akure South Local Council Secretariat, marked the second phase of disbursement to vulnerable residents across all 18 local councils.
In collaboration with the National Social Investment Programme Agency, the initiative will provide 16,255 residents with a total of ₦75,000 each, disbursed over three months in ₦25,000 instalments through debit cards.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to social inclusion, economic empowerment, and strategic cooperation with the Federal Government to lift citizens out of poverty.
