Director General of the NCSP, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, described the occasion as a moment to honour the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic foundations while looking forward to a future defined by cooperation and progress.
“Democracy Day is not just a date; it is a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and foresight of our nation’s leaders who laid the foundation for a free and democratic Nigeria,” Tegbe stated.
“It is also a call to action for all citizens to recommit to nation-building and collective prosperity.”
Tegbe noted that the Nigeria-China alliance continues to thrive across sectors such as trade, infrastructure, technology and investment.
Our task is to ensure that we unlock these opportunities for the benefit of our people and future generations.
He reaffirmed the NCSP’s strategic vision of harnessing the benefits of Nigeria’s growing relationship with China to support national development aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The NCSP stressed that mutual respect, shared goals and a focus on sustainability underpin the success of the partnership.
“The strategic partnership between Nigeria and China holds immense potential for economic transformation,” Tegbe said.
“Our task is to ensure that we unlock these opportunities for the benefit of our people and future generations.”
As Nigeria reflects on its democratic gains, the NCSP called on citizens to embrace a renewed spirit of patriotism and unity.
