Nigerian police to investigate alleged abuse of houseboy by employer

A disturbing video circulating on social media depicting the abuse of a houseboy by his employer has captured the attention of the Nigerian police.

The footage shows Chuckwuebuka, the victim, displaying various degrees of healing injuries and burns, detailing how they were inflicted upon him by his madam.

Chuckwuebuka, hailing from Imo State, revealed the extent of his injuries, including partial hearing loss in one ear, attributed to severe beatings.

The video, shared by Chief Ikukuoma, highlights the plight of domestic workers, particularly those from rural areas brought to urban settings to assist their employers.

Chief Ikukuoma condemned the alleged cruelty, describing it as one of the atrocities commonly committed by some Igbo women against their househelps.

“When you think you have seen all the atrocities Igbo women are committing they suddenly unlock a new level of wickedness,” he captioned the video.

The shocking nature of the video has prompted widespread outrage among viewers, with many expressing disbelief and horror at the abuse depicted.

In response to the video, the Nigerian Police Force has expressed keen interest in investigating the case.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Ademuyiwa Adejobi, has urged the public to provide further information to aid in apprehending the perpetrator.

Adejobi encouraged individuals with relevant details to contact the police through specified channels, underscoring the seriousness with which the police are treating the matter.
