NPUGA 2025 will be hosted by Babcock University from August 12–22, uniting 30 private universities for 10 days of sports, camaraderie, and youth empowerment
NPUGA 2025 is gearing up to be a landmark sporting event as Babcock University prepares to host the 8th edition of the Nigerian Private University Games Association from August 12 to 22, 2025.

The 10-day competition will welcome student-athletes from around 30 private universities nationwide, with events spanning football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, scrabble, and athletics.
Originally launched in 2005 at Igbinedion University, NPUGA has become more than a sporting competition it is a powerful platform for youth development, unity, and national integration through sports.
“NPUGA is a platform where private university students showcase their talents in sports,” said Dr. Olasunkanmi Osundina, Babcock’s Director of Sports.
He emphasized its role in connecting students and enhancing their development beyond academics.
Referencing national teams like the Super Falcons and D’Tigress, recently honored for their continental triumphs, Dr. Osundina noted how sports are vital to nation-building.
Babcock has assured top-notch preparations, promising a well-organized, impactful event that blends competition, excitement, and student engagement.
