NYSC Batch C deployment triggers mixed reactions as corps members face orientation shifts due to camp capacity limits

NYSC Batch C deployment has stirred mixed sentiments among prospective corps members after the National Youth Service Corps released its long awaited posting details for the 2025 Batch C stream.

The scheme announced on Monday via its official X handle that call up letters were now available for printing.

It also confirmed that NYSC Batch C deployment adjustments had been made for candidates originally posted to Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory, redirecting them to neighbouring states due to limited camp space.

According to the announcement, some corps members deployed to Lagos will now undergo orientation in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun or Osun, whilst those posted to the FCT are being moved to Kaduna, Niger and Nasarawa.

The NYSC explained that camp capacity constraints across the thirty six states and the FCT mean that only about forty per cent of registered candidates can be accommodated for this orientation cycle.

The scheme issued a travel advisory urging prospective corps members to avoid overnight journeys and to travel only in safe daylight hours.

It also reminded them to print and sign all required documents ahead of their arrival, noting that these must be submitted during camp registration.

This update follows last week’s release of call up numbers for the 2025 Batch C stream. Online registration opened on 4 November and closed on 9 November for both locally and foreign trained graduates.

The timetable published by the NYSC showed that physical verification for foreign trained graduates would run from 9 to 13 November, with ICT processing scheduled for 12 to 15 November.

Corps producing institutions are expected to facilitate online printing and distribution of deployment and call up letters between 16 and 18 November, during which all prospective corps members must print their letters ahead of camp.

The development has drawn varied reactions across social platforms, with some describing the shifts as a pragmatic move and others seeing it as an inconvenience.

Nonetheless, the NYSC insists the adjustments are essential to ensure safety, orderliness and a smooth orientation exercise.
