President Muhammadu Buhari will welcome Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Nigeria for a two-day official visit beginning Tuesday.
Erdogan, who would be accompanied by the First Lady, Emine, is likely to arrive via Angola and depart to Togo at the end of his visit, according to the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu.
According to Shehu, the leaders of the two countries will evaluate around two dozen Bilateral Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the visit and authorize the signature of those on which they agree.
In addition to bilateral talks, Erdogan, who will meet with Buhari one-on-one, is slated to open the Turkish Cultural Centre in Abuja, while his wife, Emine, will open the recently rebuilt Government Secondary School in Wuse 11, joined by the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari.
The presidential aide, who said the school was renovated by a Turkish aid organisation, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordinating Agency, TIKA, added that Nigeria considers Turkey a close partner and sees this visit as a milestone in our bilateral relations.
