The executive governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has been slammed on Twitter recently when he posted a feel-good picture of himself with a caption ÌGBÉGA ÒGÙN: 2023 – 2027!

The embattled governor, who was declared re-elected by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in a controversial election, took to the micro-blogging platform recently.

“The end of a chapter marks the beginning of another. We are ready for another phase of purposeful leadership and good governance in Ogun State. ÌGBÉGA ÒGÙN: 2023 – 2027!” he wrote.

Recall that Abiodun beat his closest contender, Ladi Adebutu, by a mere 13,915 votes, while the governor’s legitimacy is currently being contested at the election Tribunal.

Not satisfied with the post, several citizens of Ogun State took to the comment section to display their displeasure.

The SSA to Dapo Abiodun on New Media, SF Emmanuel Ojo, who was among the first to comment and allegedly based in Canada, praised the governor with “Our General Commanding Officer in Ogun State 🫶”

“Please can he also command his people to refix the Alagbole road linking Ajuwon?” the SSA was asked and he responded that work is ongoing on the roads.

“We’re working in Ifo II State Constituency which is where the aforementioned roads are located. Most definitely, we’d get to these areas,” he wrote.

@Igedeboy101 asked sarcastically,”Are you guys working from Ontario 😂😂😂”

@Awoyelu advised the governor: We need to work harder in Ogun state look after the grassroots and tap more to Lagos state.

@neyocrux: Someone did an analysis that wowed me. “Don’t expect anything from Dapo, he’s a place holder for Yayi in 2027”. But I’m like, must he be there like statue for 8yrs, does he not want to be a hero too? He said, “look at ogun state, what did he do for 4yrs to deserve a reelection?”

@tmanapaeja: You look good. But you’re always always GREAT in Yoruba outfits. That should be your signature dress💯👍😁
And congratulations for winning a second term. Looking forward to a better performance.

@temitayo69: Please help fix ota-ijoko road the other lane, it will be bad , if the road is not fixed within your remaining 4yrs tenure, more than 16yrs to endure bad road, it’s not fair from both the previous party and urs,the formal governor awarded contract they never completed.

@heizking_001: Sir please I urge you to do something about our aged pensioners . Our fathers keep on living on hope yet close to the 8 years of retirement, they haven’t see a green light of getting their pension coming to them
