The Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, seemed to have lost the trust of the people he governs totally as most of his statements do not seem to resonate with them.
Recall that the governor was in Benin Republic last Tuesday to attend the 63rd independence anniversary of the nation. He was on the entourage of the Nigerian president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with some of his political aides and six governors.

While sharing a post regarding the measures being put in place to ameliorate the adverse effects of the subsidy removal, the governor informed the public of his interest in investing in electric-powered motorbikes for ‘those who relied solely on this means of transport’.
“In our efforts to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal, which has led to the rising cost of transportation in the entire nation, we made a promise to provide electric-powered motorbikes for those who relied solely on this means of transport.
“While at the Republic of Benin yesterday, we had a test drive of some of the motorbikes that our administration will soon distribute to deserving transporters and members of our society, as a way of easing the financial pressure orchestrated by the increase in fuel price,” Prince Abiodun wrote with a lot of hashtags to push the narrative.
If he was expecting applauds, then the governor may be shopping in a wrong market as several residents of the state flooded the comment section with reprimands.
Many wondered that how and where these bikes would be used with the state currently facing a total collapse in the road networks.
One wrote: I don’t understand sir, you are currently in Benin Republic with the president and still had a test drive of the motor bikes, how come? Was the test drive being done by your officers at home or you were doing it in Benin Republic?
Omotilewa Isaiah Oluwafemi asked: On which road will they be using it sir?
Abraham Odoguje: You mean to buy the motor cycles from cotonu or what??
ÖMÖ ELUKU MËDËMËDË: Good move. Kudos to your government but please give it to those who need it and not to chairman or woman leaders. Kindly do something about Okada ticketing in Ogun State, the welfare and safety of Okada rider should be well considered. God bless Ogun State
BABCAN Inc.📫: This man is a joke. Like seriously? 😱
Adeyemo Ayobami ⚓⚖: This is the bike that would be use for transport? Lmao…. Get serious for once man. After you sat on it, can the space remaining take even one person. Common, why are you people like this
Seyi alade: Well done sir and along with motorbikes, mini bus will help the situation infact Ogun state government ‘only’ can use mini bus ( korope) as a brand for means of transportation in Ogun state.
George Erumeste: On which roads in your state??? Even legs don’t have roads to go on in your state if there’s another word worst than deplorable. Abeokuta lagos to Sango is now a death trap. Fix the roads first Oga make una no Dey play with Nigerians.
