A coalition of Yewa/Awori (Ogun West) progressives in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed disappointment in Governor Dapo Abiodun for reneging on a gentleman’s agreement to have power return to the zone in 2027.
The coalition accused the Governor of betraying their trust threatening to expose how they massively manipulated the result of the gubernatorial election in the zone in order to ensure his victory.

One of the arrowheads of the coalition who is loyal to a senator-elect from the region but currently serving in Governor Abiodun’s administration stated that the governor’s several meetings with the Alake of Egbaland in order to ensure that Adebutus drop their petitions at the tribunal in exchange for support for a candidate of Egba extraction will be resisted with all means available.
“It is quite unfortunate that despite our efforts and sacrifice for DA he chose to backstab us at this hour. Everyone is aware, it was not the Ijebus or the Egbas that gave him a second, it was the West and we did it squarely to get his support in 2027.
“If His Excellency has now been blinded by his desperation to stay in office so much that he could have another agreement with Alake just so Ladi can drop his tribunal case, then he should know he has gained an enemy in us.”
The coalition has fixed a meeting for the weekend in Ilaro to strategize on the best approach to achieve their aims.
At least, two reverend monarchies, APC party leaders, and some members of the governor’s administration have confirmed membership in the new move to ensure power comes to Ogun West in 2027.
