His Majesty, Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege, the Olota of Otta, successfully visited Kajola Iboro on Saturday, 19th October 2024, a town under his jurisdiction, despite attempts to obstruct the visit.
[dropcap]A[/dropcap]llegations have surfaced that hoodlums, reportedly sponsored by the Alake of Ake, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and his allies—including the Solicitor General of Ogun State, Mr. Olusegun Olaotan—were behind the efforts to prevent the visit.
The Alake of Ake had made multiple unsuccessful attempts to install a Baale in Kajola Iboro, resorting to hiring thugs to disrupt the Olota’s plans.

However, His Majesty firmly reiterated that the Alake of Ake’s authority is confined to the Ake section of Abeokuta South Local Government and does not extend to Ado-Odo/Ota, making any attempt to impose leadership in Kajola Iboro illegitimate.
In response to these actions, the Olota of Otta has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun CON to intervene and address the situation.
His Majesty further urged the Governor to caution Mr. Olaotan, whose duty as Solicitor General is to uphold justice, yet he has aligned himself with those undermining traditional authority.
Commending His Majesty for his restraint, it is noted that, as the rightful prescribed authority, he refused to be provoked into chaos despite the provocations from hired hoodlums acting under the influence of the Alake and the Solicitor General.
The Olota assured the people of Kajola Iboro that they should remain calm, as reports of the overnight attacks on innocent residents have been lodged with the Nigeria Police for proper investigation and prosecution.
