Detained since Wednesday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Sowore’s release marks a significant positive turn in his ongoing struggle for justice.
Sowore confirmed his freedom on Facebook, calling his detention “illegal and unjust.” He praised the relentless efforts of the revolutionary movement, stating,
“The Nigeria Police Force has capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movement. I have been released from unjust, illegal and unwarranted detention.”
His release came shortly after supporters staged protests in five different states on Friday, showcasing powerful solidarity.
