The Oritsuwa of Warri, Godday Erewa, has dismissed baseless allegations linking the Olu of Warri to pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Oritsuwa of Warri Kingdom, Godday Erewa, has strongly rejected recent allegations that the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, is connected to pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering.

These unfounded claims were made by a report suggesting that a company led by the Delta State monarch was involved in illicit oil activities.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Erewa firmly denounced the accusations, labelling them as baseless and completely without merit.
He emphasised that the Olu of Warri has always maintained an impeccable record of integrity and has never been involved in any unlawful enterprises.
Erewa highlighted the substantial contributions made by the monarch to the growth and development of Warri Kingdom and the broader Niger Delta region.
He stressed that it is inconceivable for a leader who has championed socio-economic advancement to be linked to criminal undertakings.
“Contrary to the false allegations propagated by certain individuals with ulterior motives, the Olu of Warri has initiated numerous programmes aimed at fostering socio-economic growth, peace, and community well-being.
His leadership has always been focused on the security of public assets and the promotion of a better future for the people,” Erewa stated.
The Oritsuwa also expressed concern over the timing of the allegations, which he suggested were deliberately aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the monarch.
He further suggested that the allegations were part of a calculated attempt to mislead the public for personal gain.
“It is perplexing that these accusations have surfaced now, at a time when the Olu’s remarkable efforts towards peace, ethical conduct, and sustainable development are evident.
The timing strongly suggests a deliberate effort to undermine His Majesty’s reputation for selfish reasons,” Erewa added.
He urged the Nigerian public to ignore the unfounded claims and recognise the significant progress that has been made under the leadership of Ogiame Atuwatse III.
The Oritsuwa reaffirmed that the monarch’s focus remains on nation-building, transparency, and fostering collaboration for the collective benefit of all Nigerians.
Erewa concluded by reminding the public that the Olu of Warri continues to be a beacon of hope and progress, a leader dedicated to ensuring security, economic development, and a brighter future for Warri Kingdom and beyond.
“His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III is a visionary leader whose leadership has led to substantial improvements in Warri Kingdom.

Rather than attacking reputable leaders, we must focus on collective efforts towards building a prosperous Nigeria,” the statement read.
