Oyetola 71st birthday celebration drew heartfelt tributes from Senator Mudashiru Husain, who described the former Osun governor as the linchpin of the All Progressives Congress’s sustainability in the state.

In a powerful message marking the milestone, the former senator commended Oyetola’s calm, strategic and unifying leadership, saying it had helped steer the party through challenging times and kept its core values intact.
According to Husain, Oyetola’s influence goes far beyond political structure. “He is more than a leader — he is the North Star of Osun’s progressive family,” Husain remarked. “His calm approach and principled voice of reason have helped the APC remain resilient and forward-looking.”
Highlighting his national contribution, Husain praised Oyetola’s achievements as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, where he has led efforts to harness Nigeria’s maritime potential for economic growth.
“He is unlocking opportunities that many thought were out of reach,” he added.
Oyetola, who served as Governor of Osun State from 2018 to 2022, is credited with laying down a legacy of fiscal prudence, inclusive governance and infrastructural renewal — qualities Husain believes are guiding his performance at the federal level.
