Chairman of the commission, Babatunde Adeniyi, gave the assurance on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Ibadan while receiving executives of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
The delegation was led by its chairman, Yinka Adeniran, during a courtesy visit to the commission.
Adeniyi said preparations for the poll were progressing steadily, with all processes in place to ensure compliance with electoral laws and guidelines.
“All the processes leading to the election are in top gear. We will comply with all relevant laws and conduct a credible election that will be acceptable to all,” he said.
He appealed to political parties and the media to cooperate with the commission to deliver a transparent and peaceful electoral process, noting that stakeholder collaboration remains critical to success.
The OYSIEC Oyo LG election credible assurance also addressed concerns over voter apathy, which has historically affected turnout in local government elections across the state.
Adeniyi urged the media to intensify public enlightenment efforts to encourage greater participation among eligible voters.
He commended journalists for their consistent support of the commission, even prior to his appointment, pledging to maintain a strong working relationship.
