While the origins of the digitally manipulated image remain unclear, it sparked conversations about the influence of AI in creating hyper-realistic visuals.
Addressing the image during the first Holy Ghost Night of 2025, held in the early hours of Saturday, Pastor Adeboye acknowledged its existence. “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an Alhaji,” he remarked, referencing the viral image.
The pastor’s comments were reported by Church Times Nigeria, adding a reflective note to his reaction.
While Pastor Adeboye did not elaborate further on his feelings about the image, his acknowledgement underlines the growing impact of artificial intelligence on public perception and religious discourse.
The event, hosted by the RCCG, marks the beginning of the year’s spiritual gatherings, drawing millions of worshippers from around the globe.
Pastor Adeboye’s remarks offered a moment of levity amid the service’s powerful spiritual atmosphere.
