The video, which circulated on X, captured the officer lamenting the welfare challenges faced by police personnel across the country. He accused authorities of neglecting officers despite the risks associated with their duties.

In the clip, the officer also issued a warning against being filmed while on duty, making comments that have drawn strong criticism from social media users.

“Any day wey I dey work duty as an officer, make somebody video me, that oga wey give una order go be the one to bury una. Twenty-six years here we dey suffer every day,” he said.

He further criticised the welfare system within the force, claiming that many officers struggle with basic needs and that families of fallen personnel are often left unsupported.

Despite his grievances, he praised the current Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for what he described as efforts to improve benefits for families of deceased officers.

“Uniform una no fit buy, nothing una fit do for us… If not for this new IG wey start amending things and giving fallen police officers’ families their benefits,” he added.

The video has triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the officer’s threatening comments while also acknowledging broader concerns about police welfare.
