Portable Carter Efe fight confirmed as singer receives N40m upfront, with N50m bonus pledges from Soso Soberekon and E-Money
Controversial Nigerian street pop artiste Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has received N40 million for agreeing to participate in a high-profile boxing bout with Nigerian streamer and content creator Odahohwo Joseph Efe, widely known as Carter Efe, in Lagos on 26 February 2026.

Portable disclosed the payment in a video shared on his official Instagram page, confirming that the organisers transferred the sum as a signing fee for accepting the fight.
The singer said the N40 million was paid solely to secure his commitment to the bout.
Portable Carter Efe fight negotiations had intensified in recent days following public exchanges between both entertainers.
“I have received N40 million from the organisers. They paid me the money just for accepting to fight Carter Efe. I’m very sure that I will defeat him,” Portable said in the video.
Portable further revealed that music executive Soso Soberekon and businessman Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, have each pledged an additional N50 million and a car if he wins the contest.
The proposed clash gained traction after Soberekon publicly offered a N50 million cash prize to the eventual winner, fuelling online speculation and fan anticipation.
The development has added a dramatic financial incentive to what is already shaping up to be a blockbuster celebrity showdown.
Carter Efe has also confirmed his readiness to step into the ring.
In a separate video posted on his social media page, the streamer urged organisers to fix a date for the match, signalling that preparations are under way.
The Portable Carter Efe fight is expected to draw significant public attention, blending Nigeria’s music and digital entertainment spheres in a spectacle that has already sparked intense reactions across social media platforms.
