Speculation has been rife that Asake may have parted ways with Olamide’s YBNL Nation under controversial circumstances.
While neither party has publicly confirmed the alleged rift, the rumour has sparked reactions across the Nigerian music industry.
In a video shared on his social media page, Portable mocked Olamide over the situation, recalling how the rapper only offered him a verse on his hit song Zazu instead of signing him to YBNL.
Despite this, he claimed he remained more appreciative than Asake, whom Olamide signed and mentored.
“Olamide Baddo, if you had asked me to sign to your record label, I would have gladly accepted it. But instead of you to sign me, you snatched my producer, dancer, and promoter Kogbagidi from me,” Portable alleged.
Portable went further to accuse Olamide of “snatching” key members of his team, including his producer and dancer, instead of offering him a record deal.
He insisted that if Olamide had promoted him the way he pushed Asake, he would have achieved even greater success.
“The person [Asake] you helped no send you again. You only gave me a verse, and I’m still more grateful than Asake, whom you gave your everything,” Portable said.
Olamide, who is known for his calm demeanour, has yet to respond to Portable’s remarks. The YBNL boss has a history of nurturing talents such as Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, and Adekunle Gold, with Asake being one of his most successful signees in recent years.
