Pretty Mike was arrested by the NDLEA during a nightclub raid in Lagos, where over 100 suspects were detained over an alleged drug party on Victoria Island

Pretty Mike, the popular Lagos socialite whose real name is Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) alongside over 100 others during a late-night raid on his club in Victoria Island.

In a statement issued on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi confirmed that operatives stormed Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, after receiving credible intelligence about an alleged drug party at the venue.

According to Babafemi, NDLEA officers had infiltrated the event earlier in the night to monitor activities before disrupting the party around 3 a.m.

“NDLEA operatives, who were embedded at the party from around 11 p.m. on Saturday, disrupted the event at about 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with our Standard Operating Procedures,” he said.

During the operation, several cartons of illicit substances, including Loud—a potent strain of cannabis—and laughing gas, were reportedly seized from both attendees and the club’s storage area.

Among those apprehended was reality TV personality Tuoyo, a former Big Brother Naija housemate.

The Pretty Mike arrest comes amid NDLEA’s intensified crackdown on drug-related activities in nightlife establishments across Lagos.

Babafemi disclosed that all suspects were taken into custody for screening and further investigation to determine their level of involvement.

“The operation is part of NDLEA’s ongoing efforts to curb the spread and abuse of narcotics within entertainment hubs across the state,” Babafemi added, stressing that similar enforcement actions would continue.

Witnesses said the raid caused a brief commotion as club patrons were ordered to remain on the premises while NDLEA operatives conducted searches and collected evidence. By dawn, trucks had been used to transport the arrested individuals to NDLEA facilities for questioning.

Pretty Mike, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and controversial public appearances, is yet to issue a statement on his arrest.

Sources close to the club management say the establishment is currently under NDLEA seal pending further investigation.

The NDLEA has reiterated its commitment to enforcing drug control laws and ensuring that nightlife spots in Lagos do not become safe havens for illicit substance use and distribution.
