The visit marked a major milestone in the local government’s housing agenda and its collaboration with the Ogun State Government to deliver affordable homes. Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo introduced the housing scheme as a purposeful initiative aimed at easing the housing burden for low and middle-income earners.
“This is the new town that we are working on,” he said. “It will become a hub for low and medium housing development under the Prince Dapo Abiodun Low and Medium Housing Estate.”
The chairman, addressing the first batch of subscribers, confirmed that land clearing had commenced and that setting out would begin within weeks. The new estate, he explained, is strategically located, just five minutes from Lafenwa through Ogun Radio, with over 70% of the road already constructed through a federal government intervention.
“With another intervention underway, supported by our governor, the remaining 30% of the road will be completed. This will fully integrate the new town with surrounding urban infrastructure,” he assured.
Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo emphasised that the estate’s development would occur in phases, starting immediately with the first phase and quickly followed by the second. He also made a strong commitment to subscribers, ensuring that legal processes—including securing Certificates of Occupancy (C of O)—would be seamless.
“I will stand for every subscriber to get their Certificate of Ownership. We will establish a help desk to support the process from local to state level,” he said.
