Produce for Lagos Initiative has been praised by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, who called the ₦500 billion Offtake Guarantee Fund a transformative intervention poised to strengthen Lagos’ agricultural sector and ensure long-term food security.

Implemented via Special Purpose Vehicles like LAFSINCO, Eko Logistics, and the Produce for Lagos Fund, the initiative aims to correct supply chain inefficiencies, support food producers with credit, and equip bulk traders and logistics operators with working capital.
According to Obasa, the Lagos Assembly will continue to support the Produce for Lagos Initiative with enabling legislation.
“This is a clear path towards economic prosperity, job creation, and inclusivity,” he said. “Agriculture must become Lagos’ economic cornerstone.”
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the project as a watershed moment, while Commissioner Abisola Olusanya emphasised its potential to drive interstate collaboration and private investment.
