Super Eagles striker Rafiu Durosinmi is set to make history at Belgian club Genk after the side agreed a €10.5 million deal with Italian club Pisa for the Nigerian forward, in a move that could make him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The Rafiu Durosinmi Genk transfer agreement, according to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, includes performance-related bonuses, while Pisa will retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the deal.

The fee will surpass Genk’s previous transfer record of €7 million, which the Belgian side paid Celta Vigo for Theo Bongonda in 2019.
Durosinmi, 23, joined Pisa from Czech club Viktoria Plzen in January for a reported fee of around €9 million but endured a difficult spell in Italy, managing only one goal in 12 competitive appearances.
Pisa’s relegation from Serie A has reportedly contributed to the decision to sell the Nigerian striker, allowing the club to recover much of its investment while maintaining a future financial interest in the player.
Genk’s decision reflects the club’s confidence that Durosinmi can rediscover the form that made him one of the most promising forwards in Czech football.
The Belgian outfit has developed a strong reputation for helping Nigerian strikers reach new heights. Former Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu became one of the league’s most prolific goalscorers during his time at Genk before earning a move to the Premier League.
Another Nigerian striker, Tolu Arokodare, also enjoyed a breakthrough period at the club, winning the Belgian Pro League Golden Boot before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Standing at 1.92 metres, Durosinmi fits the physical profile of the powerful centre-forward Genk have traditionally nurtured, and the club hopes he can follow the successful path of his compatriots.
The transfer could also provide a major boost to Durosinmi’s international ambitions. With Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu, Tolu Arokodare and Akor Adams competing for places in Nigeria’s attack, consistent performances and goals in Belgium could help the striker return to the Super Eagles setup.
