Enjoy Excerpts…

Can you tell us a little more about yourself?

Habeeb Abidemi Ajayi, popularly known as Bobby Black. I was born and brought up in Surulere, Lagos Nigeria but hails from Ogun State. I’m a Nigerian Afro pop singer, song writer and a recording artiste. In 2019, I released my first single titled Ire under Oduataj Entertainment and also released another song titled Believe in 2020; both songs videos are shots by Joel Matt.

What inspires your genre of music?

My inspiration comes from what I see around me on a daily basis; how life is hard for average and poor people to survive. I am someone that really care about humanity and the only way I can touch people’s live and to motivate and inspire them is by reaching out to them with my music. That’s why I sing more of inspirational and motivational songs to touch peoples heart and give them hope to live a better life.

How many album have you done so far?

Road to Stardom was my first and only album for now and it consist of solid 16 tracks. And they’re Sweet mother, My Way, Groove ft Areezy, Olaotan, Koma Roll, I Need To Know, Loose ft Vyper (from U.S.A) and Anabella. Others are Angelina, Ire, Believe, Bolatito ft Semat, Alakisa ft Mayowa Bae, Shako, Shanu mi and Oshey.

How was the feedback from your fans?

The feedback was awesome and a lot of hilarious comments from everyone; both fans, love ones friends and family. My album launch party was a night to remember at Lust the club.

As an artiste, you will have some people who are always there for you whenever you call. Can you mention them?

I don’t have anyone for now but only God, my boss Taiwo Adejonwo Oduala and my director and manager Joel Oluwasujibomi Mathew, popularly known as Joel Matt.

What genre of music do you play?

Afro Hip Hop.

Why did you choose the style?

Because I’m an African, so I love afro music. My ambition is to make Africa music proud by showcasing our sound and culture to the world through afromusic.

Who is your role model?

Brymo.

Where do you see yourself in the nearest future?

I see myself nowhere but the top.

Any challenges?

To grow as an upcoming artiste in Nigeria music industry is hell, because no one will be ready to help or assist you to grow. Those that are up don’t want come down and those that are down are planning and struggling to climb up. But what those already made don’t realise is that with the help up the upcoming artistes, they will continue to remain at the top as long as they tend to help and assist them grow.
