[dropcap]T[/dropcap]here has been palpable tension in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, following the recent dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS), led by Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, aka Auxiliary.

In a statement made by the Chief of Staff to the Oyo State government, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, on Monday, May 29, 2023, the dissolution was with immediate effect.

“I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023,” Ogunwuyi said.

Consequently, the Nigerian Police have swooped in on the dethroned strong man of Ibadan politics and raided Auxiliary’s home, where weapons and charms were recovered.

The development came hours after Seyi Makinde was sworn in as the governor of the state for a second term in office.

It was alleged that the governor used Auxiliary and his team to threaten opposition before and during the 2023 election in order to secure another term in office.

Opposition claimed that Auxiliary was made chairman, Park Management System (PMS) of the state in 2020 by the governor to compensate him for his support during the 2019 guber election.

This came just a year after return from six years jail term for his alleged role in the bloody clash between members of their factions which claimed dozens of innocent lives, along with the wanton destruction of property.
