Rufai Oseni APC FCT election reaction sparks debate as Arise News presenter alleges irregularities in Abuja area council polls

Arise News presenter Rufai Oseni on Saturday expressed frustration over the outcome of the Federal Capital Territory area council elections, criticising the victory of the All Progressives Congress and alleging irregularities in the conduct of the polls.

Rufai Oseni made the remarks shortly after results showed the ruling party securing key chairmanship and councillorship seats across the FCT, consolidating its foothold in the nation’s capital.

In a post shared following the announcement of results, Rufai Oseni suggested that the outcome reflected malpractice rather than genuine voter choice.

“When they say the hav structure know they are talking about criminality. See rigging in Abuja. They know they can’t win fair and square,” Rufai Oseni wrote.

The APC, however, maintained a dominant performance across several area councils, with party supporters celebrating what they described as a decisive mandate.

As of the time of filing this report, the Independent National Electoral Commission had not issued a formal response to the specific allegations raised by Rufai Oseni. Opposition parties are expected to review the results and consider possible next steps.

The Rufai Oseni APC FCT Election reaction has intensified public debate over the integrity of the exercise.

While backers of the ruling party hailed the results as a powerful endorsement, critics renewed calls for greater transparency and electoral reforms.

The FCT elections continue to draw mixed reactions from residents and political stakeholders, underscoring the charged atmosphere surrounding local governance in Abuja.
