Sean Combs will be released from prison six weeks early, April 25, 2028, after joining a rehabilitation programme and pursuing an appeal of his sentence
Rapper and entrepreneur Sean Combs is expected to leave Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution approximately six weeks earlier than previously scheduled as he continues efforts to appeal his four-year sentence.

Combs, serving a 50-month term on prostitution-related charges, now has a revised release date of 25 April 2028, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.
His prior release date had been 4 June 2028, following an earlier adjustment from 8 May 2028 due to alleged prison violations.
The reduction follows Combs’ acceptance into the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) in November, which offers inmates sentence reductions for demonstrated commitment to rehabilitation.
A representative said Combs “is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”
Earlier delays in his release reportedly arose from alleged rule violations, including consuming improvised alcohol and participating in an unauthorised three-way phone call.
Combs’ legal team disputed the phone call claim, citing attorney-client privilege.
During his incarceration, Combs has worked in the prison’s laundry unit and marked his 56th birthday in custody with a pizza meal.
Images released by TMZ showed him in a grey pullover and sweatpants, smiling while interacting with another inmate.
In a prior apology letter, Combs reflected on his personal transformation, writing: “The old me died in jail and a new version of me was born. Prison will change you or kill you I choose to live.”
Combs has also filed an appeal seeking immediate release or a sentence reduction, arguing that prosecutors failed to prove key elements of the case and that the punishment violated his constitutional rights.
Prosecutors opposed the appeal in February.
Since his arrest in September 2024, Combs has been convicted on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution, while being acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

His legal team has also explored the possibility of a presidential pardon, which former President Donald Trump confirmed receiving.
