SFCOBA 94Set celebrates 30th anniversary grand finale with awards, music, and tributes, honouring St. Finbarr’s legacy and achievements
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he St. Finbarr’s College Old Boys Association (SFCOBA) 94Set concluded its 30th Anniversary Celebration in grand style on 7 December 2024, at White Stone Place.
The evening was a blend of pride, nostalgia, and celebration, showcasing the enduring legacy of St. Finbarr’s College and its 1994 alumni.
The event featured a mix of tributes, awards, and performances, drawing a crowd that included esteemed teachers who had shaped the lives of the 94Set.
These educators were honoured with heartfelt tributes, receiving standing ovations for their invaluable contributions.
A standout feature of the night was a high-quality documentary produced under the supervision of renowned music producer and Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee, ID Cabasa.
The documentary traced the journey of the 94Set, highlighting their evolution from school days to professional success and societal impact.
“We wanted to tell our story in a way that inspires the younger generation and reminds us of the bond we share,” ID Cabasa remarked.
The awards segment celebrated members who excelled in diverse fields, including Entertainment, Sports, Commerce, Medical, Finance, Education, IT, and Agriculture.
Outgoing executive members were also recognised for their leadership and dedication to the association’s growth.
Dr. Thaddeus Ugwueke, Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, expressed gratitude to all who made the milestone event possible.
“This celebration is a reflection of our legacy and the enduring spirit of St. Finbarr’s. We honour our past, celebrate our present, and embrace the future with hope and pride,” he stated.
The evening featured electrifying performances from a live band and a DJ, ensuring guests were entertained throughout.
The event also saw the inauguration of a new executive committee, with outgoing chairman Ejike Nwabueze handing over the mantle of leadership.
“Our strength lies in our unity, and I am confident the new team will lead us to even greater heights,” Nwabueze said.
