South London child abuse sentence sees man jailed 15 years after conviction for multiple offences against a minor

A South London man, Kamran Khan, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences against a child following a detailed police investigation.

Kamran Khan, 44, of Streatham High Road in Lambeth, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court after his conviction on January 15 for 10 offences involving a girl under the age of 13.

The South London child abuse sentence relates to charges including rape and sexual assault by touching, all involving a single victim.

Prosecutors told the court that Kamran Khan exploited a family’s trust to gain access to the child.

According to the Metropolitan Police Service, Kamran Khan also threatened the victim to prevent her from disclosing the abuse.

The case was first reported in July 2025 after a concerned family member alerted authorities, prompting an investigation by specialist child protection officers.

Detectives later uncovered evidence that the abuse occurred across multiple locations, including the victim’s home and a public park.

Investigators described the case as evidence-driven, with forensic and digital analysis playing a decisive role.

Officers recovered a mobile device belonging to Kamran Khan, which contained material supporting the victim’s account, while DNA evidence confirmed contact.

Detective Constable Franky Green praised the victim’s courage, noting that coming forward helped expose the offences and secure justice.

Following the conviction, Kamran Khan has been placed on the sex offenders register.

The court also issued a restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order to limit future risk.

The Metropolitan Police Service said it remains committed to tackling child abuse through strengthened investigative methods, including digital forensics and surveillance.

Authorities have urged victims and families to report abuse, assuring that support systems are in place to protect those who come forward.
