Tottenham Hotspur secured a landmark 2-0 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, ending a long winless streak on the road against their London rivals.
The decisive moments came late in the second half. Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders scored an own goal in the 77th minute when he punched a corner from Mateus Fernandes into his own net under pressure.
Three minutes later, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer was shown a second yellow card and sent off for a foul on Conor Gallagher.
Mathys Tel sealed the win in the 87th minute with a fine solo effort, driving forward and drilling a low shot into the bottom corner.
The result marked Tottenham’s first league win at Stamford Bridge since April 2018 and only their second in the Premier League era.
Spurs dominated large periods of the contest and climbed the table with back-to-back league victories.
