Toyin Abraham declares bold ‘001’ amid feud

Toyin Abraham declares 001 amid renewed feud with Funke Akindele after a viral snub at Iyabo Ojo’s premiere

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has made a bold declaration, crowning herself “001 Bestie Jesu” amid renewed tension with fellow actress Funke Akindele following a viral incident at a recent movie premiere in Lagos.

Toyin Abraham declares 001 in a video shared on Instagram, where she showcased her striking outfit while affirming her self-styled title.

The post, which quickly gained traction online, drew admiration from colleagues and fans alike.

Among those who reacted were Priscilla Ojo, Efe Irele, Queen Nwokoye, and Chioma Good Hair, who praised her appearance with glowing remarks.

Other industry figures, including Kiekie, Sarah Martins, Muyiwa Ademola, and Chizzy Alichi, also expressed support through comments and emojis.

The development follows a widely circulated clip from Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, where Funke Akindele appeared to ignore Toyin Abraham’s greeting while seated alongside Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe.

The moment sparked intense reactions across social media, with many describing the scene as awkward.

In response, Toyin Abraham publicly vowed not to greet Funke Akindele again, expressing frustration over the perceived slight. The actress also disclosed that she had unfollowed her colleague, signalling a deepening rift.

Kolawole Ajeyemi, Toyin Abraham’s husband, later weighed in, commending her restraint and noting that she had chosen to remain silent despite wanting to respond more forcefully.

The situation has triggered wider commentary within the entertainment industry.

Actress Nkechi Blessing cautioned against unnecessary drama, describing the atmosphere as tense, while media personality Do2dtun urged individuals to be discerning in their relationships, warning of “fake love” within the industry.

Adding to the intrigue, actor Tobi Makinde, known to be close to Funke Akindele, shared a cryptic message that observers linked to the unfolding situation.

The renewed friction has come as a surprise to many, given recent public displays of camaraderie between the two actresses.

At a family event hosted by Toke Makinwa last year, Toyin Abraham was seen warmly greeting Funke Akindele, who responded in kind.

Both actresses were also captured sharing light-hearted moments at another film premiere, signalling what appeared to be a reconciliation.

Despite past efforts to mend relations, the latest episode underscores a lingering rivalry between two of Nollywood’s most influential figures.

As Toyin Abraham declares 001, the unfolding drama continues to command attention across Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.
