Liverpool full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold has named Lionel Messi as the best opponent that he has ever faced in his professional career.

In a recent interview with GOAL, Alexander-Arnold was quizzed about the best player he has ever faced.
The England international simply said, “Messi. I don’t know, he is just the best.”
Judging by Messi’s accolades in the game, Alexander-Arnold’s choice should not come as a surprise.
Alexander-Arnold was in the team that was beaten 3-0 at Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League during Messi’s time at Barcelona.
Liverpool, though, thrashed Messi and Co. 4-0 at Anfield, with Alexander-Arnold’s quick thinking for a Divock Origi goal turning out to be pivotal.
