The celebration, inspired by the global IWD theme “Give To Gain,” will focus on “When Women Gain, We Grow,” highlighting the significance of supporting women and the impact of such efforts on society.
Moruf Oseni, Managing Director and CEO of Wema Bank, emphasised the institution’s commitment to women inclusion.
He said the bank aims to provide tailored opportunities for women and promote gender equality, referencing the launch of the women-focused proposition, SARA by Wema, in 2019.
“This year’s IWD theme is personal to us because as a Bank that continues to give to women, we have seen firsthand the unique potential that lies within women both personally and professionally,” Oseni said.
The event will bring together top women from diverse sectors and everyday women, providing a platform to network, share insights, access opportunities, and discuss shared and contrasting realities.
Highlights include the SARA Gives to Empower Her Award, the He For She Award recognising male employees who support women, the Wema Knight Gives initiative, and the launch of the Wema Bank Girl Child Journal featuring advice from 80 contributors.
