[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]obe State Police have launched an investigation after Inspector Mohammed Bulama allegedly stabbed Abdulmalik Dauda during an altercation.
The incident occurred on 29 September 2024, following a heated argument over an unresolved transaction. Inspector Bulama is currently in custody, with disciplinary action and prosecution pending.

The Yobe State Police Command has initiated a homicide investigation following a deadly altercation involving one of its officers, Inspector Mohammed Bulama.
According to the Yobe Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident occurred on 29 September 2024 at approximately 18:20 hours in the Zango Area of Damaturu.
Inspector Bulama, aged 38, reportedly got into a heated argument with Abdulmalik Dauda, known as Baksha, over an unresolved transaction.
The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Bulama allegedly stabbed Dauda in the chest. Bulama also sustained head injuries during the altercation.
After the incident, Bulama sought refuge at the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, where he was promptly arrested.
The Yobe State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation, and Bulama is currently in custody pending further disciplinary action and prosecution.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed, condemned the incident and expressed his condolences to Dauda’s family.
He assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served. Ahmed stressed that the Nigeria Police Force will not tolerate misconduct from its personnel.
