In a shocking incident at Bells Bar Itamaga along Ijede, Elepe, Ikorodu, tragedy struck in the early hours of July 10th, 2024, as Opeyemi, a young woman, fell victim to a brutal attack by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Fatai Mogaji.

The night began innocuously, with Opeyemi enjoying an evening out before encountering her ex-boyfriend, leading to what would become a fatal encounter.

Witnesses report that a heated argument between the former couple escalated rapidly, culminating in a violent altercation where Fatai Mogaji allegedly stabbed Opeyemi a shocking 22 times. Following the vicious assault, Fatai Mogaji fled the scene, leaving Opeyemi gravely injured. It was only when concerned neighbors alerted by the commotion discovered Opeyemi’s lifeless body that emergency services were called to the scene.

“He killed her n wrapped her in the kitchen…Then locked the door, he was planning to come back n clean up. Ikorodu,” Opeyemi’s devastated sister shared on social media, urging the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of Fatai Mogaji, who is currently on the run.

The local community in Ikorodu has been deeply shaken by the senseless act of violence, rallying around Opeyemi’s family in their quest for justice. Opeyemi’s sister has taken to social media platforms, including Twitter, to share images of Fatai Mogaji in hopes that public exposure will aid in his swift capture by law enforcement.
