In a swift response to the call for assistance from Senator Otunba Engr. Gbenga Daniel, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has initiated a comprehensive relief effort to aid the victims of floods in Ogun East Senatorial District.

Following the Senate’s resolution on July 5 and a subsequent assessment visit in August facilitated by Otunba Daniel, NEMA has released a substantial quantity of essential items for distribution to those affected by erosion in Sagamu and Ijebu areas.

(ii) 800 bags of beans (10kg)
(iii) 800 bags of garri (10kg)
(iv) 40 kegs of vegetable oil (20 ltrs)
(v) B0 cartons of seasoning
(vi) 800 pieces of nylon mats
(vii) 400 pieces of blankets
(viii) 800 pieces of wax prints (6 yards)
(ix) 800 pieces of guinea brocade (5 yards)
(x) 400 pieces of plastic buckets (21 ltrs)
(xi) 800 pieces of women’s wear
(xii) 800 pieces of men’s wear
(xiii) 800 pieces of children’s wear (new)
(xiv) 100 cartons of toilet soaps
(xv) 300 bags of cement.

The distribution process is set to commence soon and will be executed in accordance with a compiled list of over 2,000 victims meticulously documented by NEMA officials with the assistance of the senator’s office during their visitation.

The move underscores the collaborative effort between the legislative and emergency response bodies to bring succor to the people of Ogun State during these challenging times.

As the relief materials are readied for distribution, the affected communities eagerly await the much-needed assistance that promises to alleviate the hardships caused by the recent flooding incidents.
