President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja for Paris, France, today for a private visit, according to a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. This marks President Tinubu’s third visit to the country since assuming office eight months ago.

While the statement did not provide specific reasons for the visit, it highlighted that President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria in the first week of February 2024.

President Tinubu’s previous visit to Paris in June 2023 occurred three weeks after assuming office. During the four-day stay, he participated in the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact, aiming to review and sign an agreement prioritizing vulnerable countries for support and investment in the wake of climate change, energy crises, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In September 2023, President Tinubu attended the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he engaged with world leaders during the nine-day event. Subsequently, he proceeded to Paris for a five-day stay, returning to Abuja on September 29 ahead of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Day anniversary on October 1.

President Tinubu’s commitment to international relations and collaboration underscores his engagement with global leaders on critical issues such as climate change, financial support for vulnerable countries, and global crises. The private visit to Paris is anticipated to contribute to ongoing diplomatic efforts and strengthen Nigeria’s standing on the international stage.
