The Lagos State government has initiated clearance operations following the discovery of yet another illegal settlement under the Osborne Bridge in Ikoyi. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, made this revelation in a statement shared on the social media platform ‘X’, accompanied by videos documenting the situation.
In his post, Wahab highlighted the discovery of the unauthorized settlement and announced the immediate commencement of clearance operations by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) – also known as KAI.
This recent discovery comes on the heels of a similar revelation made on May 1, where the state government uncovered 86 partitioned rooms beneath the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi, Lagos Island. According to reports, occupants of these illegal structures were allegedly paying an annual rent of N250,000.
As the clearance operations progress, the Lagos State government reaffirms its dedication to upholding regulatory standards and safeguarding the welfare of residents across the metropolis.
