[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Egba Collective in Nigeria and Diaspora (ECONID), a socio-political group in Ogun State, has praised the state’s political leaders for their efforts in ensuring sanity prevails amidst protests in various parts of the country.
In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by its Coordinator, Adegbenro Jubril, the group acknowledged the instrumental role played by leaders of the Southwest All Progressives Congress (APC) in preserving decorum and decency over the past three days.

“We salute the courage, patriotism, and loyalty of leaders of APC across the Southwest who stood firm with our president in the face of challenges,” said Jubril. The statement highlighted the significant contributions of several key figures in Ogun State who have been pivotal in maintaining calm and tranquillity.
The group acknowledged the outreach efforts of former governor Gbenga Daniel, who has been actively engaging with youth leaders, community development associations, and artisans in his district to foster understanding and patience regarding the president’s initiatives.
Senator Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, received particular commendation for his public appeal urging members of his district to continue supporting the president.
Former governor Ibikunle Amosun was also lauded for his efforts in reaching out to student leaders, farmers, and transport workers, explaining the president’s reform objectives.
ECONID’s statement urged leaders of the party across the North to adopt a similar approach to quell ongoing protests, emphasising that such measures are essential for Nigerians to reap the forthcoming benefits of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
