Ogun State Governor, H.E. Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, has officially inaugurated the State Working Committee for the National Agricultural Growth and Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP) project.
This initiative is set to bolster food security by providing genuine farmers with subsidised farm inputs such as high-yield cassava stems, rice, maize seeds, fertilisers, herbicides, and pesticides.
Governor Abiodun, who also serves as the Chairman of the Committee, emphasised the importance of this project in ensuring food security across the state.
He called for the unwavering support of committee members to achieve and sustain the project’s goals.
The announcement was made by Prince Adeyemi Sulaimon Olusesi, Principal Secretary to His Majesty and Omotobase of Ottaland, Awori Kingdom.
Kabiyesi Olota, Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), representing Ogun Traditional Rulers on the committee, expressed gratitude on behalf of the members.
He praised the Governor for this timely and crucial initiative, highlighting its significance in revitalising the Odeda Farm Settlements, which has already attracted international partnerships.
This strategic move by Governor Abiodun aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national efforts to ensure adequate food provision, reduce food inflation, boost production, and create an environment conducive to solving the challenges faced by Nigerian farmers.
