This call to action was made during a wellness retreat held in Lagos on Saturday, organized by Nutrify in partnership with the Young Pharmacists Group (YPG) as part of the 2024 Scientific Week of the Lagos State Chapter of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).
The retreat focused on improving health outcomes and bridging micronutrient deficiencies among Nigerians.

During the event, Pharm. Ehimen Semilore Oaikhena, Nutrify Regional Sales Manager (Modern Trade), highlighted that many Nigerians tend to focus on curative healthcare rather than preventive measures. He emphasized that Nutrify is designed to meet nutritional needs and promote a healthy lifestyle that can prevent diseases.
In his remarks, Pharm. Tolulope Ajayi, Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), stressed the crucial role of nutraceuticals in achieving a healthier future.
He encouraged healthcare providers to educate patients on the benefits of preventive healthcare and the use of nutrient-rich products like Nutrify.
Abimbola Adebakin, Founder/CEO of Advantage Health Africa, praised Tolaram Wellness for its commitment to preventive healthcare and urged Nigerians to focus on nutrition to avoid illness and pain. She encouraged pharmacists to leverage technology, such as artificial intelligence, in nutraceutical research to enhance drug discovery efficiency.
Pharm. Nmesoma Ohakwe, Lagos State Coordinator of PSN-YPG, called on young pharmacists to raise awareness about the importance of nutrients and engage in research to make significant contributions to the nutraceutical sector.
