Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the halftime show at the 2024 Super Bowl in New Orleans, confirming his role as a major figure in rap music.

 

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]rammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has confirmed he will headline the halftime show at the 2024 Super Bowl, set to take place on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

In a statement shared on social media, Lamar expressed pride in representing rap music, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

The Super Bowl halftime show is a major highlight of the annual NFL championship, attracting millions of viewers and featuring a lineup of top-tier musical talent.

Past performers have included iconic artists like the Rolling Stones, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, U2, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.

Kendrick Lamar is no stranger to the Super Bowl stage; he previously performed alongside Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent during the memorable halftime show in Los Angeles in 2022.

The NFL’s head of music, Seth Dudowsky, praised Lamar’s profound impact on music and culture, stating, “Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar.

Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop.”

The collaboration with Lamar, entertainment company Roc Nation, and Apple Music promises to deliver another unforgettable halftime show, showcasing the influential nature of rap music in contemporary culture.
